Neminimalists work hard to shape a unique mindset.
Your mindset is you [see photo].
Over the past decade I have shaped my mindset via three buckets: thoughts, habits, and beliefs. I call this process Newminimalism because it is both frugal on collective wants and expansive on individual needs.
Why has this become more and more important to me as the world around me has become almost universally infected with covid-19?
Well... The answer to that question is simple. People have sought more and more safety in their lives during this time of covid-19. And that need has led them to increase, and increase, and increase their collective wants. They want more government to help protect them from the covid virus. In essence they want more collective control of thoughts, habits, and beliefs.
These folks seek collective control of thoughts by expanding their particular version of one-think or group think. They seek collective control of habits by expanding the current reach of governments through by-laws that restrict the freedom of actions for others [wear masks, social distancing, work from home or get a permit to go to work, etc]. They seek collective control of beliefs through their cancel culture attacks on religious beliefs and their promotion of issues like Climate Change to the level of a new theology or religion.
Since becoming a Newminimalist, I have adopted a mindset that is both frugal [on collective wants] and expansive [on individual needs]. I have adopted a mindset that places quality above quantity when it comes to my spending patterns. I have adopted a mindset that is my own not one formed by a collection of memes based on, and supported, by group think.
Life is great for me right now......
Richard.
