You need some new tools....

If you are determined to chisel your own future out of the mush that surrounds you then you need new tools [see photo]. Mush is what cocoons you in this world of social entrapment. To chisel your way out of this trap of "sameness" and "conformity" requires courage, willpower, and some new tools. Chiselling your way out is the challenge of our times for young people. Sadly most young people are poorly equipped to face this challenge head on.

Sameness and conformity is the product of Cliques, groups, and collectives. China is a collective culture. The European Union is a collective culture. Google is a collaborative business culture. Cisco is a collaborative business culture. LinkedIn is a collaborative social culture. Facebook is a collaborative social culture. Twitter is a rules-based social culture. TikTok is a rules-based social culture. Current evidence shows us that all these models of organisation are fine for those individuals who are willing to place collective wants above individual needs. Indeed those who seek to belong to a collective first and foremost will always thrive inside a static state of sameness and conformity.

Sameness and conformity is the direct product of the model that business, community, national, and international elites currently maintain. The elites sustain this model because it maintains the power they seek. And because this model is a well integrated process for doing business, for governing, and for controlling communal affairs we must expect it to persist. But...There are some obvious flaws in this model such as the Federal Reserve, EU Central Bank, China Government [one belt one road], etc. For example, due to uniform Central Bank policies interest rates are at or approaching zero. This portends a further bout of deflation and ultimately a chaotic implosion of our global economic system. If that does happen then most of us will likely tumble headlong into a long-term poverty trap.

To chisel your way out of a long-term poverty trap you need the multipurpose tool of personal discipline. A highly useful version of personal discipline is curated by "minimalists". The "discipline of minimalism" comes when needs are valued more highly than wants; when habits are automated to support personal needs; and when long-held beliefs are reshaped to reflect individual needs not collective wants.
