You fix the roof and the toilet leaks....

You have your heart set on eating some sweet corn-on-the-cob [see photo] but your water supply is inexplicably off. No corn tonight! Ha, ha, ha......

We all live inside a "bubble of uncertainty" because we can not control our wants and expectations. I want and expect my water supply to work as 'normal' and just be there when I turn on a tap. But........

Want Brexit to work - good luck with that. Want responsible action taken on Climate Change - good luck with that. Want Italy to leave the European Union - good luck with that. Want to become a billionaire - good luck with that.

Here is the thing.... You and I may want to eat corn tonight but we do not need to do so. Of course we can handle this disappointment best if we are clear about the difference between our need for corn and our want for corn. Often a deep-seated conflict between our wants and our needs inflates the "bubble of uncertainty" for all of us. However. Once we align our water supply [or whatever] to our needs we do better with the up-and-downs in our lives.
