When will this "madness" end?

It will end with you not with them.

As individuals we can all hide behind the fact that the "madness" that has swept the world is on "them". But. The truth is the only one who can end this global "madness" is you. If you allow yourself to get caught up in this "madness" then all is lost [see photo].

The "madness" that is killing social cohesion, initiative, innovation, accountability, competence, merit, etc comes from the "collective". Incompetent leaders are promoted from within the collective not on merit. The inability of the leaders in government, corporate, and elsewhere to accept responsibility for their missteps and mistake is obvious; but, the collective are not really inclined to demote their ideological mates. Indeed the lies that too often spew from the collective are conveniently masked by the communal "group think" that allows this global "madness" to exist, persist, thrive, and survive.

This "madness" can only be arrested by individuals [you and me] who stand up and denounce what is wrong with our collective thinking, habits, and beliefs. In simple terms we are living with the type of "sameness" that kills human competence. Sameness ensures that the incompetence that prevails around the globe today is opaque. Sameness is a key feature of the practices, writings, training, and theories being pushed by many Human Resources professionals. Sameness is what you see everywhere in party and partisan politics. Sameness is the essence of what our kids learn at school [epitomised by the awarding of participation awards]. Sameness is being trained into this C21st global workforce. Sameness is the bedrock for the global bureaucrats who run the world we live in today. Sameness is a global pandemic that is likely to persist, and even expand, throughout this Century.

As most of you reading this little riff will likely know that 5 years ago I invented a way for me and you to become an individual again. The key to being an individual, in a world dominated by collectives, is to embrace one's minimal-you. If you embrace your unique version of minimal-you then you are what I call a Newminimalist.
