What makes you sad?

It is sad whenever you lose what you love.

What makes me sad is the losses I feel when I look around the world today [see photo].

I feel sad when I hear the Western media refer to Ukraine as a Democratic State and Zelensky as a hero. I remember being in Malmo some years ago and enjoying the best that Sweden had to offer: I am sad to hear that Sweden today is sinking into a mire of despair. I feel sad whenever I try to find a silver lining to wokeness. I feel sad when I see that modern warfare is fought with economic weapons and that the resultant devastation will be greater than anything we have seen before.

I feel sad when I contemplate a trade war followed by a kinetic conflict between Martians and Earthling in and around 2150. Although the Martian breeding stock will come from Earth these two communities be totally different. These differences will inevitably lead to a purely senseless war initiated by Earthlings as their planet stagnates. And so on and so on...

I feel sad when I note that minimalism is not all the rage around the world today. A time is coming when minimalism will become common practice; but, for the moment waste massive debt, and incompetence is fashionable.

Whatever it is that makes you sad can provide reliable insights into who you really are rather than who you pretend to be. Such insights show what you are willing to tolerate.

Richard.
