Newminimalists are perfectly geared to thrive in the "new abnormal".
Are you ready for a taste of the spicy "new normal" [see photo]?
The world is opening up slowly from the biggest economic shutdown in history. Over the next 12 months you will face the challenge of surviving or thriving in a world that is abnormal. The sign that this new economy is abnormal is that it is local not global. The commute times to downtown will be cut dramatically for you because you will only go there 3 days a week. You will spend 2 days at home where you will work for your current employer before you find a new way to generate cashflow. By 2022 you may no longer have to commute to your downtown workplace.
Of course that scenario for your future life will not happen unless or until you negotiate the cashflow to maintain it. And that will never happen to you if you do not accept that 2020 is the year you accept that 2021-2022 is the beginning of the spicy new abnormal. The great thing about this era is that it is like going back to the 1950's when the whole world changed. That was a period of a new abnormal but the returning WWII soldiers [see movie 'The man in the grey flannel suit'] who were extremely risk averse. The point is the spice comes in the from the amount of risk that you bring to this new world. High levels of risk will enable you to gain entry to a spicy hot "new abnormal". But. Some of you are naturally risk averse and so you gain entry to a mildly spicy "new abnormal".
The world has become abnormal because the world has entered a global depression. And the world has not seen the likes of this since the 1930s. Back then workers came to accept the importance of cashflow as they became day labour in factories, bakeries, hotels, etc. Today we call this the gig economy and that had become normal in 2019 but in 2020 the new abnormal will see a transformation of traditional jobs into something akin to gigs that can maintain a steady, or expanding, cashflow. The issue here for you is that the world is not returning to "normal", there is no "new normal", but there is a spicy "new abnormal".
