Newminimalists all gain from a name change.
In 2020 we all need to change the names some things, events, etc [see photo]. As most of you who are reading this little riff will already know I invented a new name for a state of being that many people embrace. I called it Newminimalism.
Today I see and hear commentators, and so-called "thought leaders", using the same old names to label things, events, places, etc that they are trying to reinvent. It does not make sense to me. For example, it common to speak, write, or blog about the future of work. The same people go on and on and on about the new workplace. And so on and so on....These people are egotistical and boring to me and no amount of fluff around the content of their messaging can make it interesting to me. Clearly 2019 no longer exists. The terms we relied upon to describe that world therefore do not compute with me in 2020.
The inner voice and mind-tapes of people today are doing them a disservice because they are crammed full moribund terms that they still use as nomenclatures. Isn't it time you erased some of those terms and established some new ones. Ones that fit our 2020 evirons.
