We are living in a clown world...

Our clown world is run by adult children

I am living in a "clown world"; however, I am not really all that amused [see photo].

Thank the Gods I am a committed minimalist. This means that I can be serious when others refuse to do so; and yet, I can laugh when others are being way too serious. The clear-and-present feature of our current clown world is that it is destructive; and as a minimalist I am all about living a life that is primarily constructive.

So how do I know that I am living in a clown world?

I recognise that there is an undeclared war raging between the collective west and Russia on the terrain of Ukraine.

I live within the reach of the European Union where the non-elected bureaucrats have imposed sanctions and boycotts on Russia [aimed at destroying the Putin regime] that are destroying my purchasing power here in Prague [inflation running at 18-20%].

I live in a world where Tesla sells [heavily subsidised by taxpayers' funds] an iPhone on wheels [a closed ecosystem that locks this transport mode into a mandated schema]; this is what supporters refer to as a game changer in their current war on fossil fuels.

I live in a world where elected officials ignore the plight of their constituents as they continue to pour taxpayers' money into the Ukraine war and into a slew of Climate Change programs.

I live in a world where vaccine mandates [covid-19 fighting interventions] exist long after this particular virus has been subdued.

I live in a world where the virtual entity FTX has seemingly collapsed due to a shortfall in funds of approximately $US 8 Billion; but, in our current clown world this might not be the end of this digital asset because as the founder, Sam Bankman-Fried, once explained he can create wealth from absolutely nothing.

I live with a mundane mindset [minimalism] that seeks to clarify, declutter, and simplify; but, in this clown world the main actors seek to elaborate, obfuscate, and complicate.

Richard.
