Unique you is like the "yellow umbrella" in the photo above. It stands out in a crowd. It is a brilliant version of an umbrella [or a human]. It makes a statement by just existing. It is likely to attract attention [both positive and negative] because it is does not fit in with all the other umbrellas all around it. But.... It is not a fashion statement. It is not a status statement. It is not an accessory.
Unique you exists but you may never discover it. Imagine that your "yellow umbrella" [see photo] is stuck in a trunk in your attic. It is there for you, however, it can not shine because it is no longer available for daily use. In your case the uniqueness that is the essence of you has been plastered over, layer by layer by layer, with low-value imprints from your Clique, familial, workmates, mentors, etc.
Unique you does not gel with your wants [think "keeping up with the Joneses"]. You want to "belong" to the group. You want to learn to "go along to get along". You want to have lots and lots of umbrellas just like those your Clique pops when it begins to rain. You want to be all the things, do all the things, and care about all the things that ensures that "unique you" can not shine. You have put your "yellow umbrella" [see photo] in a dark and dank closet.
Unique you is what I call "minimal you". This is who you were when you were five years old.
Richard.
