Timeless...

A cave painting is one example of timelessness.

I once stood in a cave in Kakadu [just beyond Darwin in Australia] and gazed at a cave painting that my guide told me was over 40,000 year old [see photo which is a likeness]. At that point I realised that we do not understand time because we can never truly comprehend the impact of "timelessness" on our thinking, habits, and beliefs. To put that into a simple context; on average a C21st man can expect to live 75 years. Ha, ha, ha.... What a joke that is in terms of the cave paintings on rock walls inside the bowls of Kakadu National Park. We are pretenders who are limited in mind, body, and spirit.

Anyone who thinks about the cave paintings of the Australian Aborigines will laugh at the issues of today: the truth for me is that Climate Change, social justice, gender displacement, etc. are all trivial matters in terms of the next 40, 000 years. As a minimalist I dismiss most of the issue of our times because they are not time artefacts like cave paintings. When I think about what it truly means to be timeless I am prompted to buy a travel ticket to go to see [again] those magical Aboriginal Caves in Kakadu in Australia.

Most of the real issues in our lives are time dependant. So I choose to focus on the time dependant issues that affect me in terms of my needs not my wants. Just as a side note on this approach to life I find that the real issues for me are all local and therefore time urgent. Need food. Need a dentist. Need a beer. Need a fun time. And so on....

The mind of a minimalist is developed on a unique sense of you which, in turn, is based on individual needs not collective wants. For instruction on how to establish your sense of you: go to minimal-you.com and hit the "become a minimalist" button in the banner heading. This will take you to a payment scheme for a 10 day programme that will teach you how to design, enforce, and live with mind filters: these help you to be the best person you can be.
