Time to decide where you will live...

This period we are going through is the perfect time to decide where you should live for the next 10 to 15 years. I sense that this Economic Depression will last around 10 to 12 years. And so this is the time to decide where you are going to live, survive, and thrive during the coming period of slow growth and social dislocation.

Simple rules for deciding where to live from 2020 through to 2035......

First become a Newminimalist and to do that you go to minimal-you.com Pay the fee and start using the benefits of what you will learn about yourself. This is an investment in you.

Second look at the neighbourhood you live in right now. If there are tent cities appearing in the area then you must move because it will only get worse and that will make it harder to earn a living income.

Third go to a local mall and see how many shops are closing. Look for other places where shops are closing in strip malls and local pockets of business. Every closure of a store is gold for you. It means that you can provide a service to this community that was there but is no longer available or one that has never been there before. An example is that Uber Eats will enter the market where you live in response to an expanding consumer interest in "on demand" meals. Similarly, the local newspaper may go out of business and this is a great opportunity to start a new one [Uber Eats is a natural candidate for advertising revenue]. Then again, you can provide an array of services for any home that now uses Zoom [hire kids for the technical knowledge you need]. You can quickly establish any pent-up or pending need for a shuttle service for retired people who need a pick-up and drop-off service when they visit the doctor or have a medical procedure [these folks also need groceries delivered and other odds and ends: plus they may need a reliable pick-up and drop-off service for grand children who live in the area].

Fourth make a plan to move into a community that can provide a small business income for you and your familial. Plan to sell most everything you have before you move. Go to a bank and establish a home mortgage and/ business loan package for 15 years with roll-over provisions. Reset your mindset to quality from quantity [those who take the Newminimalist course will know what this means]. Plan to provide a business service that is unique and can thus create a local monopoly.

Fifth either decide to move or to stay where you are right now. Based on that decision prepare to open a new business. Meanwhile you can reframe your mind to accept that you are about to live in a very different way. Then get on with it. There is work to be done. You must become the busy one on the block. And finally do not take any shit from anyone including your kids.
