The challenge we all face today is to clearly discern what is real and what is not [see photo].
Increasingly... What we see is what we project about ourselves [selfies] and others [twitter commentary] is manufactured via the technologies we depend upon to live our lives. In a sense, therefore, our lives have become an extension of the various technologies we utilise to display it, record it, and ultimately to give it a recognisable shape. Perhaps the opposite is happening to us because we see our world "through a glass darkly" which means that we view ourselves, and our lives, through "the distortion reality" lens of modern technology [iPhone, apps, etc]. Therefore much of our mundane time is spent viewing people, events, politics, etc as virtual happenings [Zoom conferences] rather than tangible happenings [face-to-face contacts]. .
Is the life we live today really there? Perhaps we are living our lives "through a glass darkly".
Richard.
