Three lessons from lockdowns....

Updated: Sep 28, 2021

Lockdowns change thoughts, habits, and beliefs.

The great lesson from this epidemic of lockdowns is that forced imprisonment has change what we think, what we do, and what we believe in [see photo].

Lesson One: Lockdowns have cut us off from nature and the direct effect of this is we are far less empathetic. For example, we have trained ourselves to wear face masks because the prevailing regime demands this behaviour from us; not because the science behind this practice is based on empirical evidence. In part this means we are dumber than we were just two years ago, our kid's development has been severely compromised, and our communities are devastated by the unintended consequences of inefficient and ineffective governance [exceptions are people who live in Taiwan, Norway, Sweden, South Korea, etc.].

Lesson Two: Lockdowns have made us timid, risk averse, docile, socially inept, mindless, etc. The direct result of this communally induced coma is that many people have been hollowed out financially, spiritually, politically. For example, many small and local businesses are bankrupt. Many individuals are financial wards of the State. Many groups are disillusioned about our prevailing morals and values. Also many communities are divided along ideological and political lines.

Lesson Three: Lockdowns have disrupted the normal order of social discourse, civility, creative expression, conflict resolution, etc. The direct result is that many people have adopted tribal beliefs, habits, and modes of thinking. For example some people insist on mandated vaccinations for those who have had Covid, for those who carry an inherent risk of medical complications from these drugs, and for those who have a conscientious objection to Covid vaccines [these folks are identified as "them"and classified as the enemy of "us"].

If one can LEARN these lessons from Covid lockdowns his or her future is bright.
