This blip in time....

This blip in time forms a wormhole to a better future.

Future historians will note that the early years of the C21st were just a "blip in time". They will doubtless record that the dominant feature of our times was incompetent leadership, centralised power, and fear of climate change. In the footnotes to these scrolls they will acknowledge the relative prosperity for billions of people, the total failure of the UN, and the steady demise of vocational and thought-provoking education. Historians may also record their disappointment with the fact that humans seemed to fall into a self-induced "sameness trance" for the first two decades of our Century despite the great advances in technology.

They may suggest that this is the "blip in time" that results in 7 billion people passing thorough a wormhole [time and space fold or distortion] while searching for a better future. Historians will document insights into a time that encouraged Space Exploration, AI automation of labour-intensive processes, devolution of public and private power to local networks, self-sustaining colonies on the Moon and on Mars, and a final resolution to the social issues [Climate Change, AI assisted economics, etc] that petrified billions of people. However the only issue that historians are likely to hype is the mass migration of people around the globe. But. How historians will record these migration events will depend on whether Western Society survives in anything like the existing form and structure.

Historians will look back on this time with great mirth. They will be amazed that we let such incompetents rule us. They will be puzzled by the fact that we allowed our first experiences with mass global communication [Facebook, Twitter, etc] to descend into a jumble of hate and animosity. Finally, they will likely look back on these times as the final chapter in human experimentation with collectivism.

Once humans escape this "blip in time" and move on through the wormhole one change might well prove to be the final blow for collectivism. On the other side of the wormhole humans will live inside their minds more than ever before and this simple fact will lead them to place more importance on the individual than the tribe. Beyond the wormhole tribes will become outcasts much as individuals are today.

On the other side of the wormhole lies a strange new world where life on Earth will no longer be recorded as a simple "blip in time"
