The world is a complex place; but, there is one constant [see photo]. And that constant is YOU. Well that is what we are lead to believe. The truth is that most of us are a variable not a constant. Indeed we vary so much over time that even we do not really know who we are; let alone, who we purport to be. We know who we wish, want, or seek to become but that is merely a daydream because few of us have the self-discipline required to become that person. And I am not suggesting that this is a bad thing; it is reality and we should accept it.
My reality today is that I am struggling to become a minimalist. I have been working on this project for a decade past and it has lead me to some successes and some failures. However there was never a better time in my life [and possibly in yours] than this day to become a minimalist. Of course it demands the type of self-discipline along with the "sense of purpose" that can drive one to change his or her thoughts, habits, and beliefs.
Of course each of us must first know who we truly are and be ready to face the challenges that revelation bring to our life. Are we who we present to the world or are we a fake? Are we full to the brim with false realities [some imported from elsewhere and some homegrown]? Are we willing to change? Are we ready to live our truth each day of every week? Are we...
Here is my golden rule for those of you who are willing to begin a personal journey towards becoming a minimalist. As you might expect this rule is simple to say yet hard to live with.
"Don't buy cheap anything"...
