The world has gone quiet....

Minimalist know this feeling of unrelenting calm.

Blissfulness.

In the past month the world has less noise, less hustle, and less bustle. Even as the centre of Prague opens up again and people are out and about there is an uncanny silence to all the activity. It is hard to explain but it is there.

It makes sense because everyone is tired of covid restrictions and fears. The shopping centre has all the usual Xmas decorations up. I spied a tram with elegant markings of snow and good cheer. But it all fell flat on me. Those types of decorations seem relics of a bygone era.

Ahead lies a new era. A time when the collectives rule. A time when non-joiners like me will become outcasts. A time when private companies will set demands for one to obtained before their products and services can be enjoyed by them. For example, you may have to have a certificate to proved that you have been vaccinated agains "the covid" or you will be barred from your international flight.

As someone who in his youth joined politics to stamp out such attempts to control the freedoms of those in my birth nation: I have some serious qualms about all this loss of individual freedom.

Indeed I created my notion of minimal-you as a permanent bulwark against the collectives who now run the world. The fact that most people seem to be "happy" belonging to a Union, Clique, Collective, or Mob disturbs me but it does not surprise me. This new era of collectivism will happen whether I endorse it or not - so I am please to have my "minimalism bubble" as a retreat.

Inside my "minimalism bubble" I attend to my individual needs. Thus I can ignore most to what is happening over in the "collectivism bubble" because to me it has become an illusion or a delusion. For example, it is clear that "the collective" won the 2020 US Presidential Election. That the collective made this happen is a telling sign of our times.
