If you stand beneath a waterfall [see photo] then it obvious that the process [never-ending tumbling tons of water onto you] will eventually crush you. But. Today many of you reading this riff are standing beneath a waterfall of punishment coming from your HR unit, work-mates, social network, etc. However, the cruel fact is that workplace processes that punish you are largely invisible. I imagine that in the near future workers will not be eager to join workplaces such as Google, Facebook, Amazon, Bank of America, Disney, American Express, etc. Why? They will reject the group think, ideology, theology, and HR strictures that empower modern workplace processes. Instead they will create their own workplaces as independent contractors who will thrive in the emerging 'gig economy'. I understand that what I proffer here is controversial [not accepted or acceptable to many of you]. Equally, though, my comments here are very real for those of you who strive to live your life as independent beings. Richard
