The political workplace...

A new political system controls the new workplace.

Politics controls you at work, at play, in classrooms, on social networks, etc [see photo].

Politics has always been an integral part of the workplace. Rumours, group think, grapevine commentary, etc have always played a central part in evaluating your work performances. Today the scope for political assessment of you as a competent worker is far greater than ever before. Your voices, actions, and beliefs dating back to day one of the World Wide Web have become the political shroud which envelopes you each and everyday. Clearly this shroud can be a massive impediment when you seek to perform at your peak; however, the fact that the political imperatives [and rules of compliance] change on a regular basis makes this new workplace a toxic mess.

The political sphere that defines the workplace today includes: social media, activist movements, "political correct" language, ideology, and theology. The reach of this toxic brew is so great that even those who one might think are the perfect political model [for this new workplace] can be cancelled on a whim. They are cancelled for thought crimes they may have committed decades ago. They are cancelled because they momentarily step outside the current "political shadow" that accompanies them here, there, and everywhere. They are cancelled because discontent within their Clique decides to obliterate them. They are cancelled because.....

The political workplace is increasingly being structured by corporate [and/or government] mandates. These mandates govern what you think [support or oppose vaccine mandates], what you do [comply or oppose mask wearing while working], and what you believe [support or oppose the theology of zero-carbon emissions]. My suggestion is that you form a simple DMZ where supporters and opponents of fashionable political thought, actions, and beliefs find no solace. Within my DMZ there is a complete absence of solace for the politics of hate, envy, group think, greed, power, etc.

Richard.
