Minimalists thrive inside networked clusters.
I have been writing posts about a new organisational form for about 3 years [see photo].
Organisations have always been a coalition of interests that create clusters. But these clusters have only ever been loosely connected. This problem was corrected by what we refer to as organisational culture ["the way things are done around here"]. And in most organisations attempt to standardise their culture through processes that often are run by Human Resources.
In recent iterations of the modern organisation the HR processes that link the people clusters that collectively frames the culture of the whole place. HR programs such as "diversity and inclusion" have politicised these process [some have been intentional and some have been imported with software packages or organisation-wide training modules.
But. The pause button has been hit on these old systems of organisation through the 2020 response to the covid-19 pandemic. Thus the old system has stalled. Meanwhile, a new system has, or will soon, emerge as these people clusters are increasingly linked by new communication links [data and information]. And these new links will be based on need not collective wants. This is the reason that minimalists will thrive inside this form of organisation.
Richard.
