We live in boring times.
We have become obsessed with trivial issues/problems because we live in boring times [see photo]. Boring times produce no less innovations than exciting times [perhaps]; but, the difference is that these advances are made to the trivial not the critical. This is why the news today is filled with woke trivia, gender transition, ideological nonsense, and an avalanche of propaganda. Thus in a boring era of "much to do about nothing" we have this sense that our world is changing faster than ever.
Living in boring times [for each of us] is a challenge if, and only if, we have our heads glued to an iPhone or otherwise working to fill our brains with trivia. The magic door through this maze of trivia [for you and yours] appears if, and when, you focus on your actual needs not on the collective wants that are being marketed to you each and every day. If you focus on your mundane needs exclusively then you will automatically screen out most of "the colour and movement" that passes for social/technological change these days.
Richard.
