The fear vortex of a human mind.

A hack for the fear vortex in human minds.

I invented a version of minimalism that turns out to be a practical hack for the fear vortex in human minds. What you fear probably did not happen, will not happen, and can not happen. Thus you, and I need, a viable explanation of why fear dominates our mindfulness.

A decade ago I began to discount Collective Wants so I could better focus on Individual Needs. As I began to focus on my individual needs I began to better understand who I have been, who I am, and who I can become. I refer to this as my unique version of minimalist me [see minimal-you.com].

Let me explain what I mean by the term Collective Wants. The gateway to understanding this phenomenon is the notion that humans "go along to get along". Look around you today and will be struck by the number of the ways that humans seek to "go along to get along".

What you do. What you own. What you aspire to become. These are all human wants that might have been dictated to you by a ideological, theological, or philosophical collective. For example... You have, or aspire to have, an electric car because that is what your collective expects of you rather than because it best fits your individual needs.

The "vortex of fears" that humans live with today can mostly be traced back to Collective Wants not Individual Needs. This means that your mind is not your own. This means that you can not see the crises that others do not see. This means you live with high levels of fear. This means your mind can not distinguish between information and disinformation.

In practical terms this means that what is information to me because it fits my Individual Needs is misinformation to your friends because it does not fit with their Collective Wants.

To reduce the impact of your fear vortex; you must be able to differentiate between information and misinformation. Does the information being pushed by those who are wedded to an ideological, theological, or philosophical collective fit with your Individual Needs? Look at what you need in your life and this will enable you to discount the fear mongering embedded in the release, propagation, and replication of misinformation. The collectives spread misinformation to create fear amongst their cult, clique, tribal members.

If you become a minimalist, perhaps, you are well equipped to live your life beyond the reach of the contemporary fear vortex running inside of our minds.

Richard.
