Nuclear Armageddon ?

Political showboating...

The world is on the verge of a nuclear conflagration. Yeah... That is a real possibility. Why? Because we no longer have leaders around the world who rank modern problems, and solutions, on their merits.

Biden, and Zelensky, put on a weird political "clown show" in Kiev this week. This was an insane exhibition of "political showboating" because Biden was celebrating the outbreak of the Ukraine war. Biden came with the commitment to yet another $US 500 million to fight Russians. What are the merits of this public policy decision?

Let us assess the merits of this public policy decision that sees Biden increase his commitment to "regime change" in Moscow. The spending on this war in Ukraine is part of long-held US foreign policy strategy to remove Putin from power. Once Putin is gone it seems that the further aim is to divide Russia into six separate entities. At that point the commodity wealth of Russians can be plundered by the West, I guess?

Regime change in Moscow is a public policy goal that will eventually affect each and every person on this planet. Some will benefit in what they consider are good ways. However millions will have their lives irreparably altered in ways that will not be good. But... Before that transpires we all face the real, and growing, prospects of a "Nuclear Armageddon".

There seems to be a lack of merit scoring of a foreign public policy initiative that puts at risks the outcome of a "Nuclear Armageddon". Biden is pushing us towards that outcome; and yet, so many of you who read this missive may agree with Biden's war against the evil despot, Putin. What about the counter claims of those who know Zelensky to be cruel, corrupt, and evil? If public policy is pursued on merit then both sides of evil must be accounted for in any credible assessment. Surely... It is time to end the "killing fields" that has risen from the combined actions of NATO, EU, Britain, USA, et al.

We must stop this "political showboating" by the West and demand Putin live up to his claims that he genuinely seeks a resolution of this conflict. He claims he was willing to resolve this issue before he moved to ramp up military forces. Will a rational political actor now take center stage and end all this global turmoil?
