The minimalist

A moment in time.

As"the minimalist" I live in the moment as much as possible [see photo]. I live with a minimal set of individual/personal needs and a deliberate lack of ideological/emotional wants. I imagine that most people who read my missives [over 1400 to date all saved on this website]. But, ahead, I intend to write more passionately about being a minimalist in terms of what I see happening in the world around me. Much of what I see is driven by ideological wants that reward individuals with power, status, and enhance wealth. As the minimalist I have spent the past 10 years purposefully redacting/reducing/eradicating my own ideological wants and I can attest to the fact that this is difficult to achieve. So here is my new journal tagged "the minimalist". I hope you enjoy reading them and within your life applying some of the ideas I offer you here.

The power of local mandates

The power of mandates became clear over the 2+ years of the Covid-19 pandemic. This was a beta-test for a new world order which intends to reset the way humans live, reproduce, and evolve. But perhaps the big surprise result from this social beta-test was the most effective mandates were declared by local authorities. I should stop here to let you think about that for a moment. That is to get your head around that fact.

In all respects that is a truly strange result because most of what was mandated during the Covid-19 pandemic was blessed [authorised] by the World Health Organisation, World Economic Forum, United Nations, etc. Therefore one could be forgiven for thinking that the Covid-19 mandate regime was a top-down social change. And that was factual if you look at the global narrative for a world in which "you will own nothing and be happy". That narrative was closely linked to the urgent need for a Green New Deal, diversity-equity-inclusion [DEI], environmental-social-governance [ESG], etc has been been driven by global authorities and influencers; but, most mandates only really work when imposed by local level.

The power of local mandates has become the engine of social evolution. As a minimalist this is a good development because the cause of our demise is within our reach to change. We can change the people who administer these mandates/ideological wants as we vote out the politicians and demand that the bureaucrats be "outed" and blasted from their bunkers. Protests in the local streets are not a viable way to achieve this object because it tends to promote "solutions" as slogans when what is needed is to amplify "issues" as an agenda for debate. No debate is possible when "slogans" [ideological wants] parade as genuine solutions to our issues/problems/demise. Instead minimalists will work to elect politicians who will legislate to restrict the power of those who want to mandate our lives.

My theme in these riffs is to affirm quality [politicians, goods, services, etc] and oppose quantity [mandated behaviour, one-think education, etc]. My bias is clear here and I hope that I can still make you think for yourself instead of joining those who are locked into "group think".

Please let me know what your thoughts are [positive and negative] about the emerging power of local mandates.
