The language of your mind...

Is the language of your mind "fit for purpose"?

The language of your mind is ever present [see photo]. If it is fit-for-purpose then you will succeed at whatever you choose to do. If it is not a good fit with your purpose then you will languish behind your aspirations.

There is so many videos, books, and seminars on what it takes to be a success in your life. Most of this advice is pure crap. Yes you do not need any of it. All you need is to edit your dreams, your waking thoughts, and your beliefs. Dreams, thoughts, and beliefs compose the language of your mind. And mismatches between the language of a person's mind is common. For example, all those successes that tell the vapid media they are retiring or moving on so they "can spend more time with the family". Horse hockey. What they really mean is that the language of their mind is currently out of sync with their worklife, their ambitions, their power status, their bank balance, etc.

I am a minimalist because the language of my mind is affirmed when I focus on individual needs not collective wants. As a minimalist I value words like trust, cooperation, integrity, equality, etc. As a minimalist I avoid words like belonging, collaboration, inclusion, equity, etc. I bet that most of you reading this are the opposite to me. That's fine. The important thing is that you know that the language of your mind is framed by words like collaboration, inclusion, equity, etc. If you say this words out loud because those you hang with rather than because you are committed to them then your life is shallow no matter the power, wealth, and status you acquire.

The most famous minimalist on Earth today is Elon Musk. He has a language of the mind that suits him. However his demonstrable language of the mind does not suit me. And that is the great thing about being a minimalist - we all think, act, and believe in different ways. We have no pressure to conform. We reject the "sameness" that pervades our world. We rejoice in difference, change, challenge, and a sense that each life is precious.
