Following up on my last riff about the incubator. First you are all alone in the world. These times are better than ever before. In real terms the sea around you is a great shade of blue; the water is clear; and the paddling is easy [see photo]. But... The rough-and-tumble white water is about to reach you. Are you prepared to ride these waters to the beach? How can you take advantage of the change coming your way. The incubator is where you prepare for changes that are coming. This is where you can simulate what it will take for you to ride the white water all the way to the beach. Your target beach head might be one, two, three, four, or five years away. If your time frame is short then you need to beta-test your products and services as fast as possible. If your frame is long then you need to beta-test your products and services as fast as possible. The first rule of the incubator is not to fall 'in love' with your ideas, ideology, group think, etc. Instead, you need to fall 'in love' with the 24/7 process of monitoring your environs. The second rule is 'get ready' to fail before the next wave curls in a way that will surely dump you. The third rule is do not dwell on failure - learn from success. Richard
