The Grey Heron is your environment - the Fish is You. One great myth of our times is that "change comes from the inside out". Ha, ha, ha. Tell that to the Fish [see photo]. The truth is that "change comes from the outside in". Here is the rub. You must choose between being aligned with the Grey Heron [the group think mob] or the Fish [the individual]. Most people who post on LinkedIn seem to be aligned with the Grey Heron. I have chosen to be the Fish [and thus to risk living in a world dominated by the Grey Heron]. Being the Fish is amazing, exhilarating, fun, and full of purpose; but, I must not get caught by the big Grey Heron. Here is how you can avoid the clutches of that big bird. Eliminate collective wants [those imposed on the group that form the big bird in our world today]. Instead focus on your needs. Automate habits that reinforce your basic needs. Your habits guide your behaviour. It is your behaviour that will establish the patterns of life that lead you away from the clutches of the big bird. Recreate your beliefs in sync with your needs. Shun all those [group think] beliefs that were imposed on you by your familial, church, teachers, community, etc. Richard.
