I wish I could say that the greatest brand today is Minimalism....ha, ha, ha... Of that I could say that with a straight face... but alas that is not it... However the greatest brand today is an idea.... It is not a product [Apple iPhone] or a service [Amazon Alexa], or an ideology [socialism or capitalism] or a theology [Christianity Buddhism Muslim faith].....
The greatest brand today is "Climate Change". It is an idea that has gone viral over the past decade after struggling to make an impact on consumers for more than half a Century. And it is so powerful because it is elusive, it is hard to pin down, and it has elements of everything a consumer of marketing desires. It is frightening to children and adults alike. It is the symbol for products [everything from Tesla cars to low-energy light bulbs]. It is a service that informs people about the state of the planet as seen by Climate Change experts. It is an ideology that has become the talisman for those who collect their thoughts under the banner of "The Green New Deal" which is the all purpose linguistic wrapping for a carbon-neutral economy. It is a new theology for those who place the planet Earth at the centre of all things spiritual.
Minimalism can not yet complete with Climate Change as an idea or as a brand.... One day, perhaps, it will raise to replace it .... But for the moment I must continue to promote the virtues, advantages, and mindfulness that come to those who choose to live as minimalists.
I know, I know, I know it is a tough job marketing minimal-you against the likes of Climate Change... But.... Some one has to do it, right? Ha, ha, ha......
