Business folks rely on the past to guide them. Yeah, I know that within your workplace there is so much of the 'talk' is about the future. But that is just talk. Meanwhile... most of the action is based on [or constrained by] the past.
Past success. Past failure. These clouds blur 'the future presence' which is equally available to all of us.
Most 'start-ups' are based on old thinking, lame work practices, or insane revenue models. For example... once a venture capitalist comes knocking on your door - the gig is up. Why? Venture capitalists bring a limited revenue model to your project. And this means that way too many future opportunities are being 'clouded out' by regressive thinkers.
Paypal is an idea that Bank of America should have developed. Twitter stole 'the future presence' of communications from Verizon and friends.
What clouds are blocking your view of 'the future presence'?
