The "creative gig economy" is with us now. The global practice will be to work from home. The new working life mantra is to be creative in all aspects of your life.
The creative gig workers will be aggressively independent and thus will always avoid "collectives". The collective work phenomenon is fading and it will be replaced by automation [AI based processes].
Surviving and thriving alongside these "automation processes" will be those who live and work inside the "creative gig economy".
The emerging "creative gig economy" suits young men.
Work for the next 20 years - in times of boom and bust - shall prove abundant in the emergent gig economy.
Gig opportunities in media [subsidized podcasts, etc], professions [projects, assignments, etc] service delivery [Amazon or Post Office] and so on and so on.
If an individual becomes a company of one or more - gig work offers high returns [remuneration, profit share, subsidized activity, etc].
Young men have a high propensity to remain individuals in a world of collectives.
Gigs cater to independent thinkers not group thinkers. Gigs thrive on cooperation [trust based effort] not collaboration [rules based effort] and so young men will be blessed with alcoves of opportunities in a sea of sameness. Gigs demand peak performance efforts [breakthroughs, innovations, and change: all emerge from heuristic learning or beta-testing ideas] not measured performance efforts [HR departments, consensus, and compromise].
Young men must choose. Choose between short, sharp, bursts of high quality work and near-enough-is-good-enough activity. Choose between a red rose and a field of yellow sunflowers [see photo]. Choose between independence and blind loyalty to the common good.
Richard.
