Tesla sells you an iPhone with wheels...

We are trapped inside a network of apps.

We live, work, and play inside a network of digital apps [see photo] and perhaps one is parked in your garage. While your iPhone is being recharged in your home so too is your Tesla which is parked in your garage. This is not a coincidence because both your iPhone and your Tesla are inert when the battery no longer holds a charge. But more importantly the Tesla in your garage is simply an iPhone with wheels. In the near future this Tesla of yours could also become a digital bank on wheels as Elon builds out Twitter into a full service online banking service. And so on and so...

The digital world is here and it is not what many of us thought it would be. We might have imagined that "the great digital reset" would set us free from those annoying traditional centralised controls on our lives. But... It seems that we all eagerly walked straight into a more concentrated form of controls/restrictions [vaccine mandates, censored speech, private/public monopolies, etc] delivered to us via our iPhones and Tesla modes of transport.

All this is an unexpected outcome for me. But I must confess I own and I use an iPhone; however, I use very few apps on that platform. I do have Apple Pay on my iPhone but I have never used it and that is the case for most other apps available to me. Adding to that I must confess that I will never buy, rent, or use a Tesla transporter because such EV products are not what they purport to be.

Luckily for me... Living as a Minimalist [with a clear focus on individual needs and minimal collective wants] means that I exist, in large part, beyond the reach of a new private/public digital monopoly.

Richard.
