Swapping prosperity for ideology...

Prosperity is stagnating.

Those who have benefitted the most from the prosperity of the current global economy can afford to become ideologues [see photo]. The individual [in the photo] benefits from all this prosperity too; but, attending to his needs has cratered as the wealthy seek to transform their ideological dreams into a religion. This new religion [ like many before it] is firmly based on collective wants not on individual needs. It is a modern fact that those who promote Climate Change fears do not respect the needs of the individual in the photo as they are supported by those who invest in renewable technology.

Ideologues dream of a lesser world. They describe this life in simple and simplistic terms that might seem appealing even to the man in the photo above. Their dream is that people have less and less and less. And in the process these individuals, groups, and collectives become more equal in terms of prosperity; but less equal in ideological terms.

Swapping prosperity for ideology will lead the world towards critical shortages of staples, towards increasing poverty in Africa and South America, and towards more instability in Europe and America. Under this narrative short-term prosperity will decline for most people. Meanwhile an ideology cult will expand its influence in all areas of society. The end result will be that socio-economic disruption will come to all who are not already wealthy.

Perhaps the most amazing aspect of this phenomenon is that the wealthy have become the most unrelenting ideologues on Climate Change, establishing the preconditions for totalitarian government, and for the implosion of the existing social order. Fracturing the prevailing social order has become an imperative for these ideologues because they have a stubborn dream about a world that is completely different to the one they inherited from their antecedents. And so it goes.....
