Structural change is slow...

Describe that thing and go build one....

What was freaking me out earlier this week [I got depressed for a couple of days] is the narrative for change in 2021 [see photo]. But today I reflected on my life and all the structural change projects that I have been involved with over decades. The common thread is that the narrative [design or plan] is easy to create but the structural change that must occur to allow any of it to happen takes decades. So I can predict with the wisdom of hindsight and a life time spent on the frontline of structural change that most of what you read about today will never, ever, happen. Other stuff will happen but it this will not deliver what you want or do not want.

The Green New Deal will never happen. Build back better is simply a marketing slogan for those who want to spend your hard earned money on government programs. Open borders will not work as the United Nations intends - sometimes it will help a nation and other times it will become a government spending sink hole. China's takeover of Taiwan must happen in the next five years or it will most likely be stalled by the collapse of the CCP inside the mainland. The end of fossil fuels is not happening. Zero carbon emission is not on. Modern Monetary Theory will not work. And so on and so on....

Great! I can get back to being complacent about the future.....ha, ha, ha.....

Richard.
