Prepare yourself for big changes the magnitude of which have not been seen for hundreds of years. These changes will set us up for the C22nd and beyond.
Listen to the people who talk about a future that is discontinuous with our past. Shut your ears and your mind to notion that the past is predicate for the future - it is pure nonsense.
There is so much speculative chatter about what is a threat to our future. The chattering class [influencers, keynote speakers, fame seekers, etc] are spewing noise not useful information. Ignore these glory seekers; instead, imagine the best possible future for yourself and your loved ones because most of what you wish for can come true in the post-2020 world.
The World Trade Organisation is done. The United Nations is done. The European Union is done. China's economic expansion is done. Globalisation [carbon-free economics and elitist power in Washington DC, London, etc] is done. A new global economic structure is emerging that will be as significant as the move off the gold standard, floating [not fixed] currencies, concentration of wealth and power in the hands of global elites, etc.
A practical example of structural change is what is about to happen to personal transport. Forthcoming arrangements will change the purchase, service, and ownership of personal transport The notion that you can use and also rent your personal vehicle from new to trade-in is a truly novel idea. This idea must be tweaked but it will flow-on to other uses of assets in ways that creates new wealth levers for workers and a post-2020 middle class.
