Straighten-up...

Straighten-up and fly right.

It is time for those who value family life, individual freedom, and good governance to "straighten-up and fly right" [see photo].

First and foremost, you must think long and hard about who you vote for at the next election [national, provincial, and local]. If the incumbent is not pro-family, an advocate for individual freedom, and prepared to do the hard work required to ensure good governance then do not vote for him or her.

Second, if you value civility, open-ended discourse, and truth in advertising then you will not bow to the dictates of those in government, media, workplaces [virtual or physical], or corporations who seek to treat the unvaccinated among us as pariahs. South Africa had a policy of Apartheid which separated whites and black to ensure that the former held all the trump cards and the latter held no cards at all. The current scheme of "vaccinate or perish" is a medical version of Apartheid.

Third, if you are a rational, empathetic, and caring human then you will hardly welcome the prospect of Covid-19 lockdowns rolling-on into a relentless series of Climate Change related shutdowns starting with the coal-fed power grid in your nation, province, or community. Coal is being demonised by some as if it is a virus that will harm you while wind turbines, solar panels, and state-of-the-art batteries are being lauded as vaccine equivalents that can help deliver us from the eternal curse of carbon emissions. If we fear Coal as we did Covid-19 then precisely the same cycles of political tyranny will cause bout after bout after bout of misery and needless suffering to be visited upon us all. This will happen swiftly once the political focus shifts from the Covid-19 threat to the black, or brown, Coal threat.

Finally, if you have been convinced that the tyranny of lockdowns and vaccination passports serves "the greater good" then you might find it useful to take a moment to reflect upon the carnage that such fear-laden public policy settings have caused.

Richard.
