We live in an era of great individual stress due to the impact of the mounting social pressure to comply to a new orthodoxy. Thus I urge you to begin your search for solace [see photo].
Solace is a respite from misery.
Misery is the shadow that accompanies a social regime which demands compliance to random and inconsistent rules. Misery is the hurt imposed on an individual who is shunned from his or her tribe, clique, collective, or community after being accused of some petty misdemeanour. Misery is becoming homeless in a social schema that turns a blind eye towards the causes of your plight. Misery is the inability to tune out an inner voice that is full of self flagellation because you are deemed to be a failure in the eyes of others. Misery is a pit of darkness, despair, depression, and hopelessness which, in turn, is the punishment for those who defy the dictates of a prevailing "group think".
I went searching for solace around seven years ago: I found it in my version of minimalism.
Richard.
