Minimalists are always feathering the brake pedal.
I have owned three cars which all had excellent brakes: Alfa Romeo, Mercedes Benz, and a fully worked-over Honda CV. Each of them stopped in a hurry. Each of them stopped in a straight line. When you drive such a car you have an extra margin of safety built into your journey. I never had any of them going sideways under heavy braking [see photo].
Of course I use the car as a metaphor here. Most of you are going sideways under heavy braking in your lives today. In 2020 the world has conspired to make it too dangerous for you to continue to maintain the speed of life you enjoyed in 2019. So many of you are moving through life, right now, in an uncontrolled slide with your foot planted to the floor on your brake peddle. Thus your life is no longer within your limits of control.
Those of you who are minimalists are not in this situation. Why? Because you folk slammed on the brakes earlier in this year or even back in the latter part of last year. What does that mean for you? Well it means that you reduced to a minimum your collective wants.
Richard.
