Silence...

Silence is golden.

Today I will give myself a treat - I will take time to silence my inner voice [see photo].

Minimalism is primarily about taking control of your inner voice. You will begin to take control of all the self-talk that rattles around inside your head. As a minimalist you will continually clear out the noise which has been inculcated in you by others. For example, you have often spent long periods in a day humming a tune that gets stuck inside your head. It is hard to shift, right? Well periods of silence will help you to shift it.

For most people today the "humming inside their head" which they can not block out is a mantra or a meme. This mantra might remind you to your fear of Climate Change. It may be a meme that suggests you advocate "diversity and inclusion" to quell your fear of inequity. It may be a repetitive narrative that urges you to embrace the thought patterns of the woke [including critical race theory, modern monetary theory, etc]. If you have any, or all, of those foci for your inner voice than long periods of silence might be appropriate for you to regain your sense of sanity. Indeed the "collective gifts" you accept from your friends, social networks, and familial can overwhelm you. So... Before you are totally overwhelmed by the humming inner voice that blocks out your own thinking you may consider taking a time-out from the unrelenting pressure of the collective thoughts that are being imposed upon you.

Minimalism is "a state of mind" that is controlled by you not them. And to retake control of your thoughts, habits, and beliefs you must erase man of the mantras and memes that have been embedded inside your head by the mob. The mob is not going away, or so it seems, in this year of 2021; but, the messages they broadcast that currently reverberate inside your head can be silenced. It will take much longer than one day to expel the group think of morons however what you do today might become your first positive step towards regaining your sanity. This will not be an easy process because it takes enormous willpower, discipline, determination, and self-belief to carry you towards a positive state of mindfulness.
