People seem to spend more and more time each day "selling perceptions" [see photo]. Is it Autumn? It must be Autumn because those selling perceptions tell me it is. Ha, ha, ha.....
A great example of selling perceptions is the Chinese cultural need to save face. For some contextual background on that concept watch "Stay Awesome" by Winston Sterzel [ie SerpentZA] at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mV1EY6wZHo
Selling perceptions is an expanding phenomenon today. But more interesting perhaps is that the gap between perceptions on the major issue of the day [Brexit, Climate Change, One road One belt, Middle East economic turmoil, Fake news, Central Bank control of currencies, etc.] and reality is expanding. The current state of play is that selling perceptions is done so well [often using a fear factor] that it is difficult to say what is real and what is not.
What is real about China? What is real about the America First policy? What is real about the remnants of the Union in Great Britain? What is real about the news we get on social media? What is real about the debt-based currencies we use to facilitate daily life? What is real about the"attention economy" when those selling perceptions dominate the marketplace? What is real about a contemporary society when those who are selling perceptions shape the contemporary narrative?
