Removing the lipstick from your pig...

These piglet pastries have chocolate lipstick..

Social media is great at putting lipstick on a pig [see photo]. Indeed on these "pastry pigs" the lipstick is a defining feature.

Most of the content [pigs] on social media is agenda driven. And so once one recognises the underlying agenda then all pigs look pretty much the same. Thus the hottest pigs are created by those who know how to layer lipstick onto their little piglet. These creative masters apply just the right amount of lipstick. They choose just the right shade of lipstick. And if they get this lipstick application "just right" then they win the prize for the most likes. But the really surprising thing about this phenomenon is that most comments refer to the lipstick not to the pig.

Most who take the lipstick off their pig do this by telling stories. These stories are creative attempts to persuade us that this is not a pig [does this remind you of the painting of a pipe with the title "this is not a pipe"]. The aim here is to convince us that this pig needs no lipstick. One simple example of this tactic would be to tell a story about Alice Liddell and her times [1860s] as a distraction within a diatribe about a post-modern interpretation of "Alice in Wonderland". This is a piglet without lipstick because the consumer of this presentation equates the life and times of Alice Liddell with this radical analysis of her dream.

By telling stories a content provider can remove the lipstick from his or her pig. However. Those who become entrapped in the story often fail to entertain any meaningful analysis of the actual subject of the discourse, conversation, presentation, article, or video. And so it is clear "just how" this trick works as those folks recall the story as a surrogate for the pig itself.

The impact of removing the lipstick from your pig is fascinating - don't ya think"
