We live in a time when it is common to paste a "kind face" onto an evil system [see photo].
We are living through the dawn of a new era when the evil systems [algorithms, AI-bots, etc] are being camouflaged by kind, agreeable, or pretty faces. The face of the evil AI-bot, government, corporation, media, Augmented Reality game, etc is curated to be pleasing, acceptable, soothing, and calming. Indeed the more pleasing the "kind face" the more horrendous the system that lies behind it.
Human minds are easily controlled by images that are"dreamlike". Alice in Wonderland is a fable about a girl trapped inside a state of dreaming where the system is chaotic, language is gibberish, cruelty is apparent, and time keeps ticking. Inside Wonderland time speeds up, slows down, idles, vanishes and reappears. In this weird place lie mind-puzzles that deplete one's ability to differentiate between good and evil.
Returning to the mundane... Do we dare to peek behind the "kind face" of pleasing images, manipulated data, propagated fear of the other, and simplistic answers to complex issues? Can we retain a clear-and-purposeful mind while bobbing around in a sea of mind-puzzles?
Are we forever hoodwinked by those who possess the mind altering skills needed to place us in an trance of adoration for the "kind face"?
Richard.
