Perhaps [almost assuredly] it is because of workplace politics...
What can you do about it?
First you can acknowledge the context within which you do your work... Do you work on strategy, marketing, administration, or throughput processes? Each type of work brings a certain type of political content with it. Identify the political content and decide who benefits the most from the propagation of it.
Second you can learn/understand the core principles of politics. He/she/they/them are who establish the narrative which sets the terms and conditions of all political discourse.
Workplaces around the globe [in 2022] have become more political; and yet, many/most of the political actors adhere to one narrative.
