At the end of WWII Berlin was carved up into four distinct sectors - the Soviet, French, British, and American quarters became the dominant platforms for sustaining a life. Life in each sector was endured by many people at a subsistence level. Brutality was common. Corruption was a fact. Dehumanising was tolerated. This was a dystopian world but [as always seems to be the case] some people survived this discombobulation better than others. Some chose corruption as their platform. Others chose isolation. Still others chose to build a new society. Most due to their circumstance became petty criminals.
The misery most people [exceptions include the homeless, those living on the Gazza Strip, those eking out a living in certain parts of Africa, etc] face today is not directly comparable to those faced by people trapped in Berlin after WWII: nonetheless, some hard choices must still be made. Will you choose to be corrupt? Will you choose to be a brutal menace to your cohorts? Will you choose to promote dehumanising acts [and evil propaganda] as an act of revenge against those you fear? Will you choose to work to build a new social order?
I choose minimalism as my platform. This means I intend to become a strong independent individual who lives just beyond the reach of all those who choose a platform based on corruption, brutality, dehumanisation, or high levels of fear and loathing.
Richard.
My mind as a minimalist is developed on a unique sense of what I call minimal-you which, in turn, is based on individual needs not collective wants. For instruction on how to establish your sense of you: go to minimal-you.com and hit the "become a minimalist" button in the banner heading. This will take you to a payment scheme for a 10 day programme that will teach you how to design, enforce, and live with mind filters: these help you to be the best person you can be.
