Organisation design

The butterfly effect of organisation design -create patterned ripples.

This is a great time to create organisational designs that work to produce use value rather than traditional value add [see photo].

Reduce staff to a minimum by devolving authority and accountability. Automation is coming but be careful what processes are automated because it is expensive to change it. Customer facing systems tend to be automated but this is a often a mistake.

Establish semi-autonomous work groups. Use coordination to improve system performance. Use cooperation [based on trust] to improve information flows [for example reduce classified tags on data to increase speed of processing].

Increase in-house training for all staff. These training sessions must be planned and made compulsory to avoid waste of funds due to no shows [this waste is often the result of poor management of key human resources]. Train negotiation skills. Train discipline by establishing strong culture habits.

There is more but if you do those things your enterprise will find unique ways to survive and to thrive.
