What is it that you obsess about in your life? Have these obsessions changed much over the course of your life? Do the external circumstances of your life tend to shape, or influence, the ways you conduct your life? What is it about personal, or group, obsessions that you can control and what is it about them that control you?
There is so much published today about mental health, wellness, mindfulness, success, etc that one can spend his or her life in deep contemplation about a whole heap of crap. In simple terms, it is the obsessions that each individual indulges in that shapes his or her life. For example, if your current obsession is individual security then your are afraid 24/7 about the impact of Covid-19 on the local community, the nation, and the world. You will therefore wear a face mask here, there, and everywhere. Furthermore, you will insist that everyone else does as you are doing so that you can be, and feel, secure. In a similar vein those who obsess about the well being of others fear Climate Change, injustice, racism, capitalism, etc. This obsession - think of it as empathy for everyone besides yourself - leads one to live in fabricated bubble wherein the "group hug" is considered the requisite security blanket for all comers. If you live inside this "group hug" bubble then your mind is full of memes [see photo]. You have a mind that is basically incapable of independent thought; you live with practiced habits; and you rely upon beliefs which have been bequeathed to you by others.
Obsessions light-up our brains and transform our minds.

The mind of a minimalist is developed on a unique sense of you which, in turn, is based on individual needs not collective wants. For instruction on how to establish your sense of you: go to minimal-you.com and hit the "become a minimalist" button in the banner heading. This will take you to a payment scheme for a 10 day programme that will teach you how to design, enforce, and live with mind filters: these help you to be the best person you can be.
