Newminimalists focus on needs.
Newminimalism is a heaven sent asset that I have in this moment of crisis. I was sent this concept from I know not where. It came to me in fragmented dreams that disturbed me. As I began to accept this gift as "a blessing"; I began to explore its limits and in the process I became confused. I became hesitant. I became uncertain. I became muddled in my thinking.
I had long been a fan of the Mandelbrot Set and the fractal maths that created it. Of course I did not understand it [especially the maths] but I welcomed the idea that it was based on recurring patterns. The notion of recurring patterns was the key to my dreams. I began to identify the notion of minimal–you as a set of patterns of thinking, behaviours, and beliefs.
My first breakthrough in establishing ground zero for my concept of Newminimalism came once I began to think of the Mandelbrot Set as the "blob" and every thing beyond it as the "swirl". The blob is a set of patterns that maintain a state of dynamic homeostasis. It does this because it is constrained and there are limits to it. Meanwhile. The swirl is an ever expanding state because it has no constraints or limits to it.
Newminimalism is a combination of the blob and the swirl. It is the blob because it has limits that constrain it. And. It is a swirl because the limits and constraints of this entity establish porous boundaries. Minimal-you is a state of being explained by three vectors - thoughts, habits, and beliefs. However this version of you is unique because needs define it. Therefore if one's minimal-you needs are expansive then the swirl will tend to define a very different version of you than can possibly exist within any tightly constrained set of needs.
This is why I coined the term "Newminimalism". Clearly the traditional minimalists will exist with few needs. In stark contrast the new minimalists will exist with a built-in desire to expand one's needs to reach out to touch the stars [see photo].
