Globalism has fragmented and a replacement system is forming. The new system is urban and based on local communities that are connected by 5G technologies. And minimalists are well placed to take full advantage of this movement because they focus on individual needs not global wants [see photo].
The globalisation system was built up after the end of WWII. At its core it was an economic system that served collective consumerism. Mass production system was all about selling more stuff to global consumers. The integration of a global supply system led globalism to a peak in 2019 but the Covid-19 plague stalled it in 2020/21 and now [2022] the successes have begun to fade. The reason for these failures are many and varied [demographies, sanctions, technologies, post-modern governance, etc]. Over the next 5, 10,and 20 years people will move to urban centres that provide work, life, and community experiences that fit their needs not others' wants. The introduction of 5G telecommunications to urban centres will enrich the life of people living in this new form of a digital village. Work will mean more when the worker knows that what he or she does each day contributes directly to the wellbeing of his or her local community. These people will live local, work local, educate their kids local, and be buried in a local funeral parlor.
The core of globalisation was driven by others wants. The core of the new digital village will be driven by individual needs.
Richard.
