Messaging...

Messaging affects thinking, habits, and beliefs.

We all live with a constant stream of messaging that comes at us from outside sources [see photo]. But it is the inside messaging that is critical to who you were, who you are, and who you can be.

We tend to place all the inside messaging from us, to us, into three categories: thinking, habits, and beliefs.

The thinking category can be further divided into messages about our needs and those that are about our wants. Our needs are homegrown. These are what keep us alive, vibrants, and viable as a human. Messaging about wants come from outside of us and therefore are often constitute noise, distraction, and non-think for me and you.

The habits category can also be divided into messaging that is based on our needs as an individual and those that come to us from the group, mob, or fashion hacks. The essence of good character traits or habits is those that align with your needs-based thoughts.

The beliefs category is more than likely based on messaging that comes to us from outside influencers like parents, priests, ideologists, teachers, etc. These are most likely based on the wants of others rather than your primary needs. Therefore one of the true challenges for all humans today is to overcome the "confirmation bias" they carry if this is the result of being loyal to the beliefs sets of others.

Please do yourself a big favour and take time to edit the messaging you send yourself because these signals do help shape your thinking, your habits, and your beliefs.

Richard.
