Newminimalists have endured the lockdowns but will thrive once they are lifted
The lockdown public policy is a disaster [see photo]. It only exists as public policy as a cover-up for the incompetence of governments to manage their national healthcare system. Taiwan had no lockdown because it had prepared for a viral pandemic. It took measures to isolate the most vulnerable people, it tested everyone repeatedly, it insisted that people wore masks, and it tracked the virus as it moved through the population. For a population of 24 million people the total death count was recorded at just 9 unfortunate patients.
Lockdowns must be lifted so that people can once again earn and honest living, open their businesses, trade with other nations, etc. It will not be business as usual but it will slowly become the foundations for a new economy based on modern versions of a social contract between individuals and employers.
Lockdowns are the sign of incompetence. Lockdowns are a sign that the people in charge find it easier to isolate individuals than it is to isolate the virus and then eliminate it. Lockdowns have far too many toxic side effects for individuals, collectives, and nations. Lockdowns are the public policy option that best suits the lazy policy advisors.
Lockdowns will no be easy to unlock. Just do it or do it incrementally? Doing it incrementally will further injure those who have suffered the most under their particular lockdown regime. It will heighten the frustration of those who are not on the lists for early release from any version of these lockdowns. Questions will be raised why some of those not listed on the early release schedules should remain trapped in the torture and misery of these pointless lockdowns.
