Life "off-the-grid"....

The post modern world has forced us all to live inside cul de sacs.

Living in a people cul de sac.

In the early years of this Century the Internet offer each individual on the planet a new experience. Let me call it "life on the grid". Once on the Internet an individual could go here there and everywhere because the Internet was laid out as a grid. The straight line between you and the type of access, information, and people you needed in your life was apparent. The journey was slow due to bandwidth and other technology factors but the route was clear and certain.

Today we all live off-the-grid [see photo]. For all intense and purpose there is no Internet grid in this year of 2020. Instead we have a global networked system that is full of cul de sacs. These entities were designed and built by software engineer for and on behalf of global businesses. More specifically they were designed to facilitate a post-modern world where people are herded into collectives that face inwards not outwards. There is no simple access to the world as in the times when one simply plugged into the grid.

The hot topic on social media today is whatever you cohorts who live inside your cul de sac are energised about. And most of the conversations that take place are dead ends just like any other cul de sac. These people cul de sacs are good vehicles for "group think", "one think", and "dumb think". The reason is that entropy thrive inside a closed system and this is the definition of a closed system.

If you understand that most folks live in people cul de sacs then you will have an inkling of what the world around you is destined to become.

Richard.
