Yesterday the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse ended in a not guilty verdict by unanimous decision from the jury. Once again the process of trial by jury has proven to be sound in the face of many questionable tactics from the prosecution. The case was brought against a 17 year kid for purely political reasons. Kyle went to Kenosha to help his father's community defend itself and to clean-up the mess left by the rioters who seemed intent to burn the town down. Kyle was cleaning up graffiti in the earliest photos of his visit to Kenosha. However on the night in question he was carrying a fire extinguisher [to help put out fires] and a long barrel rifle [to protect himself and others]. Within the context of the events that took place that night Kyle shot and killed two assailants and wounded another. Clearly this was a tragedy for all involved. But I should note here that all this happened because the police who were there had been ordered to "stand down". That stand down order created a vacuum which enabled a peaceful demonstration to escalate into a violent riot led by a mob.
Yesterday was an historic day because blind justice was delivered by a jury [that is 12 of the accused's peers] in a little courthouse in Kenosha. This might become known as the turning point in assault by the mob [social commentators, traditional media, protesters, politicians, prosecutors, etc] on the judicial system. There is a constant attack on the judicial systems around the world from Kenosha to Warsaw [high court ruling being ignored by EU] as those who seek a new world order are known to pull-no-punches as they use the fragilities of a blind justice system to create the illusion that a riot led by a violent mob is a peaceful protest. These peaceful protesters [who burnt down Kenosha] are deemed to be beyond the reach of the blind justice system. The evidence on videos shows Kyle becoming trapped inside an uncontrollable riot led by a mob on the scene, on social media, in print, and on TV.
For month after month Kyle was trapped inside a process of condemnation by politicians, media commentators, political partisans, and advocates of group think. However Kyle will never be free from charges of guilt from those who energise the process of persecution by media. Nor will these partisans likely ever desist from their "group think" attacks on the process of blind justice.
Richard.
